Vocations
The life of a Poor Clare revolves around the liturgy. With Holy Mass as the focal point of each day and the Divine Office calling her back to choir seven times daily, the liturgy of the Church permeates every aspect of her life.
Shortly after midnight, we rise to praise God in the Divine Office and six more times during the course of the day. After Mass early in the morning, we come to chapel for silent adoration before the Blessed Sacrament.
Our life of prayer is interspersed with periods of work during which we take care of the monastery and cloister gardens, as well as our Sisters’ needs. We follow the Lenten fast.
Our apostolate serves everyone. The power of prayer is tremendous and is not limited by boundaries. Having cloistered contemplative Nuns in a diocese is like having a spiritual reservoir to bring refreshment to all in need.
“The prayer of an obedient person is worth more than one hundred thousand prayers of a disobedient one.“
-St. Colette of Corbie
